The Benham Brothers, identical twins David Benham and Jason Benham, are American former professional Minor League Baseball players, authors, speakers, and entrepreneurs. Their rise to success earned the brothers a reality entitled Flip it Forward which was to premiere in October 2014; however, the show was canceled by HGTV before a single episode aired due to comments made by the Benhams regarding abortion and same-sex marriage.

The Benham Brothers have authored two books, Whatever the Cost and Living Among Lions, and today they run BENHAM Real Estate Group. The brothers live in Charlotte, North Carolina. David and his wife Lori have five children, and Jason and his wife Tori have four children.

Business ventures together

The brothers began working in real estate in Charlotte, North Carolina after college. The brothers had had little success until a bank contacted them to work on a foreclosed home. After the brothers fixed the home, the bank was impressed with their work and gave them many more jobs. In 2003, they co-founded BENHAM Real Estate Group with a focus on bank listings and preparing foreclosed homes for resale.

Missioneering

The Great Recession forced a significant number of Christian missionaries worldwide to leave their mission due to significant shortfalls in charitable donations. In 2010, the brothers created a concept termed 'Missioneering', to replace charitable giving as the primary source for missionary finance by leveraging a missionary's occupational skills to produce for-profit goods or services. In 2014, the brothers' missioneering projects supported three missionaries in the Philippines by hiring and training 300 employees to offer business services and by opening two CrossFit gyms that served 500 members.

Flip it Forward: HGTV

On April 18, 2014, HGTV announced it was planning on airing a home improvement show called "Flip It Forward" hosted by the Benham Brothers to premiere in October 2014. On May 6, 2014, Right Wing Watch released a post condemning HGTV's decision to have the brothers host the show because of their prior public statements opposing abortion and same-sex marriage The following day, HGTV announced via a tweet that it would not move forward with the Benham Brothers' series, thereby immediately cancelling the production in the middle of filming. News organizations such as GlobalFlare.com stated that the cancellation came out as a result of a "smear campaign", while the brothers have stated that an untrue narrative was advanced to make them look hateful; they blame a "gay agenda" for the network's decision. Although their show was cancelled before airing, the Benham Brothers finished the house flip projects on the six Charlotte homes connected to the cancelled show.
